András Rácz

Dr. András Rácz was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1980. He graduated in History and Political Science in 2004 at the Eötvös Loránd University. He defended his Ph.D. in 2008 on the development of the military capabilities of the European Union.

Since 2007 he has been working at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs. Besides, he is a lecturer of the Kodolányi János College and regularly gives lectures at the NATO PfP trainings organized by the Zrínyi Miklós National Defence University as well.

In 2007 he worked three months at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute in Sweden. A year later, in 2008 he spent five months at the Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science in Lithuania with a research scholarship. Besides his native language Hungarian, he speaks English, German, Russian, Latin and some Polish.

His research areas include the security and defence policy of the European Union, the European Neighbourhood Policy towards Eastern Europe, and the foreign and security policies of countries of the Western-NIS region and he has published widely on these issues.
